The Contract Administrator is responsible for managing, including preparing, reviewing, and administering construction contracts throughout the entire project lifecycle. This role ensures contractual compliance, mitigates risks, supports commercial performance, and facilitates effective communication between subcontractors and internal project teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and manage subcontractor contracts, including review, assessment, and handling of claims, disputes, and contractual issues.
- Oversee construction works from a contractual perspective, ensuring compliance with contract terms and project requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and subcontractors to ensure proper contract implementation and issue resolution.
- Support contract negotiations, amendments, and variation management.
- Participate in procurement processes, including review and evaluation of final contract agreements before execution.
- Provide contractual support to the Project Managers and the wider project team.
- Assess contractual and commercial risks and provide recommendations for mitigation.
- Ensure that documentation, correspondence, and other related records are properly maintained in accordance with contractual obligations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in law or civil engineering or the equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in contract administration, project management, or a similar role, including legal experience within the construction industry.
- Knowledge of construction processes and the construction industry, as well as the regulatory framework governing them.
- Knowledge and practical experience with FIDIC contract conditions.
- Ability to identify legal and commercial risks and efficiently manage large volumes of documentation.
- Knowledge of the Latvian language and English language proficiency, both spoken and written, to perform duties in relation to all colleagues coming from JV partner companies.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Driving license of category B.
