More than 10 new companies have joined the supply chain for the construction of the southern section of the Rail Baltica mainline
Since March, an additional 13 Latvian companies have registered on ERB Rail’s procurement platform for the Rail Baltica mainline project. In total, ERB Rail’s supplier registry currently includes 266 companies, of which 235 are Latvian businesses. The project engages specialists from various regions across Latvia, including the municipalities of Bauska, Jelgava, Aizkraukle, and Ogre. In May, more than 150 employees worked daily across the construction sites of the southern section of the Rail Baltica mainline. ERB Rail and Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnija launch regular meetings with Ķekava Municipality
Representatives of the Rail Baltica project implementation team – specialists from Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnija and ERB Rail, the contractor responsible for constructing the new Rail Baltica mainline – have launched regular meetings with the Ķekava Municipality. Currently, the priority southern section of the Rail Baltica mainline (Lithuanian border–Misa) borders the next construction section in central Latvia. Construction and site preparation works continue on the southern section of the Rail Baltica mainline, with active construction currently taking place across approximately 30 km within seven construction permits. Current works include deforestation, construction of access roads, development of the Infrastructure Maintenance Facility near Iecava, as well as scanning and neutralisation of unexploded ordnance. The works are coordinated by Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas in cooperation with Latvijas valsts meži, while construction works are carried out by ERB Rail.
