Construction and site preparation works continue on the southern section of the Rail Baltica mainline, with active construction currently taking place across approximately 30 km within seven construction permits.

Current works include deforestation, construction of access roads, development of the Infrastructure Maintenance Facility near Iecava, as well as scanning and neutralisation of unexploded ordnance. The works are coordinated by Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas in cooperation with Latvijas valsts meži, while construction works are carried out by ERB Rail.
