Site Engineer plays a critical role in overseeing the efficient and successful execution of work activities in specified construction discipline (e.g. pavement, road, hydraulic works, structures) within construction project, from procurement, planning and resource management to quality assurance and environmental stewardship.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Site Construction Manager in performing day-to-day duties.
- Supervise construction activities on site and ensure compliance with design specifications and project requirements.
- Prepare short-term work schedules and support the Site Construction Manager in mid-term planning.
- Interpret drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
- Ensure full compliance with all safety standards and procedures, while systematically recording on-site observations and best practices.
- Conduct quality control and site inspections, and coordinate inspection activities with third parties.
- Document unexpected technical difficulties, provide suitable information required by Site Construction Manager, Designers or Support Teams, taking part in resolution process.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, including construction logs and material logs.
- Support the procurement process of materials and work packages.
- Assist with site surveys and measurements when required.
- Ensure effective collaboration with emergency services.
- Participate in emergency response drills and exercises.
- Participate in incident investigations and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Engineer’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in site engineering or a similar role, preferably related to earthworks and roadworks.
- In-depth knowledge of construction work organization and construction law regulations.
- Experience working with the BIS system is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
- Ability to adapt to the different stages of the Project and eventual changes to the plan.
- Knowledge of the Latvian language and English language proficiency, both spoken and written, to perform duties in relation to all colleagues coming from JV partner companies.
- Valid driving license (Category B).
