(SOUTH REGIONAL MANAGEMENT TEAM)
The South Regional Management Team Senior Geotechnician’s core responsibility is to assess the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of soil and rock to design and monitor construction of foundations, retaining structures and earthworks for the South Region based in Iecava.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To work closely with another South Senior Geotechnician and South General Supervisor to implement the strategies and processes defined by the General Management Team.
- To participate in creating processes to improve the design process and implementation of innovative design methods, considering client requirements.
- To provide support in the execution of tasks: design studies, design checks, opinions, expert opinions, quantity studies (preliminaries), development of technical specifications.
- To organize and monitor all aspects of the construction geotechnical monitoring programs, to provide support for analysis and design, and implement continuous improvement measures.
- To undertake geotechnical assessments, complex analysis, design calculations and detailed designs with efficient use of specialized software.
- To provide technical advice within the scope of one’s specialization, to assist in the optimization of projects.
- To perform identification of soil and qualification for reinforcement.
- To perform qualification of the material to be used for embankments.
- To participate in task forces set up to deal with specific technical issues.
- To look at the risk of geological hazards and make sure any factors affecting engineering works are identified and managed.
- To authorize study reports and geotechnical tests
- To perform qualification of excavation or quarry material and correct layering.
- To monitor conditions during and after construction to make sure structures are stable in the short and long term.
- To prepare contract documents for construction.
JOB REQUIREMENT:
- Engineer’s degree in Geotechnic specialization.
- At least 10 years experiences as responsible of geotechnic investigation/ supervision of geotechnical specific works.
- High level of English, both spoken and written (at least at B1 level).
- Attention to details is a must.
- Very good analytical capability.
- Ability to meet deadlines to attend the Project objectives.
- Ability to adapt to the different stages of the Project and eventual changes to the plan.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
