Ensure structured data collection across all systems used in the E.R.B. Rail JV project and develop automated reporting and dashboard solutions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with colleagues from other departments (e.g. Finance, Production) to understand data needs and ensure structured, consistent, and meaningful data collection.
  • Develop and implement standards for data formats, naming conventions, and metadata across the organization.
  • Support the setup of data pipelines and integration between systems to ensure clean and timely data availability for analysis.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to support decision-making at all organizational levels.
  • Create and maintain data models, DAX measures, and KPIs aligned with company goals and department-specific needs.
  • Automate recurring reports and implement alerts or triggers for key performance metrics.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Translate business questions into data-driven insights and communicate findings in a clear, actionable manner.
  • Conduct on-demand analyses to support management in strategic planning and key business initiatives.
  • Work closely with IT, data owners, and department leads to ensure data quality, relevance, and timeliness.
  • Assist departments in interpreting dashboards and using data effectively for decision-making.
  • Provide training or documentation for self-service BI users where appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Data Analyst or Business Intelligence Analyst.
  • Strong skills in Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and report/dashboard creation.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, ETL processes, and data structuring best practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Synapse, or similar).
  • Experience with analytical tools such as Excel (advanced), Python, or R is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and align work with overall project objectives.
  • Knowledge of the Latvian language and English language proficiency, both spoken and written, to perform duties in relation to all colleagues coming from JV partner companies.
