As a Site Safety Manager, you will ensure safe and compliant construction site operations by promoting a strong safety culture, implementing health and safety standards, identifying and mitigating risks, and supporting the successful delivery of the project in accordance with all applicable regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, company policies, and project requirements.
- Monitor construction site safety through inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.
- Promote a strong safety culture by providing safety inductions, toolbox talks, and guidance to project teams and subcontractors.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, maintain safety documentation, and prepare regular safety reports.
- Support emergency preparedness and collaborate with project management to continuously improve health and safety performance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Higher education in Occupational Health and Safety or Qualification as a Senior Labour Protection Specialist.
- At least 5 years of experience in a safety supervision role, preferably in construction.
- Knowledge of Latvian occupational health and safety legislation and construction regulations.
- Good knowledge of safety inspections, audits, and risk management practices.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of the Latvian language and English language proficiency, both spo-ken and written, to perform duties in relation to all colleagues coming from JV partner companies.
- Category B driving licence.
