The Logistics Engineer will support the Production Department in the organization of logistical tasks and will be responsible for transportation, inventory management, customer relations and cost forecasting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To work closely with the Main Logistics Manager to develop and implement the strategies and processes defined by the General Management Team.
  • To organize site access and deal with related issues (access roads, side infrastructure etc.).
  • To organize the setup of the construction base in RMT and SMT.
  • To organize materials management (for: aggregates, concrete, machinery, etc.), storage yards, deliveries, unloading, loading etc.
  • To analyze Project requirements to choose the right materials and devise logistics solutions to ensure that the company meets its deadlines and is within budgets.
  • To collaborate with RMT and SMT to implement systems that improve inventory tracking, storage and distribution.
  • To develop relationships with carriers, to negotiate rates and contracts to secure reliable and cost-effective transportation services.
  • To participate in procurement procedures together with the Commercial Department and work together on the creation of purchasing plans and necessary documentation.
  • To prepare daily, weekly, monthly reports in Novade about various topics regarding work performed and planning of next works.
  • To cooperate with subcontractors and supervise their works, schedules and documentation.

JOB REQUIREMENT:

  • A civil, logistics or railway engineer degree.
  • Driving license of category B.
  • High level of English, both spoken and written (at least at B2 level), fluent Latvian.
  • Knowledge of the construction market: materials, contractors, equipment.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management and handling programs.
  • Knowledge of the principles of line project management.
  • Experience in the field of equipment management and materials supply.
  • Experience of organization and settlement of logistical material, machinery and equipment tasks.
  • Willingness to travel frequently – the Project is carried out throughout the country.
  • Ability to adapt to the different stages of the Project and eventual changes to the plan.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
