(SOUTH REGIONAL MANAGEMENT TEAM)
The Geodesist Supervisor is responsible for gathering accurate and precise surveying data for various construction and engineering projects for the South Region (with base in Iecava).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working closely with the GMT Senior Geodesic specialist/coordinator and South Regional manager to implement the strategies and processes defined by the General Management Team.
- Preparation of cost estimates for the surveying work – counting the number of hectares of mapping for design purposes, counting the number of plots to be subdivided and the number of plots taken over in their entirety within the region.
- Planning and coordination of surveying in the South Region.
- Verification of the correctness of the design solutions regarding the geodetic and cartographic law, within the region.
- Supervision and monitoring of the construction process regarding compliance with surveying law, the client’s requirements and the bidding assumptions within the assigned contract section.
- Verification and creation of reports on the progress of earthworks in the region. Supervision of the circulation of survey reports, inventory of stockpiled aggregates.
- Utilizing advanced surveying equipment, such as total stations, GPS receivers, and laser scanners, to collect data and create accurate maps, models, and charts.
- Direct support of the South Region, in terms of surveying, during contract execution, claims, acceptance and as-built documentation.
JOB REQUIREMENT:
- Engineer’s degree in Geomatics or related field.
- High level of English, both spoken and written (at least at B1 level), fluent Latvian.
- At least 10 years of working experience as a geodesist.
- Experience of the geodetic operation of the track tamping process and knowledge of the applicable technical regulations.
- Ability to work out the track axis and profile from the design data to check the accuracy of the geodetic data in the field.
- Ability to set up and control geodetic networks for high-speed rail tamping.
- Certificate of Latvian geodetic qualifications.
- UAV drone flying skills with certification.
- Ability to process data and operate 3D machine control systems.
- Knowledge of Trimble, Stonex, Yellowscan, Faro, Leica and Bentley, ability to work with AutoCAD, Terrasolid and Pix4D.
- In-depth knowledge of Latvian regulations and Construction law.
- Ability to commit deadlines to attend the Project objectives.
- Ability to adapt to the different stages of the Project and eventual changes to the plan.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
